Vintage Sadler Teapot 2097 Gilded with Rose Floral Decoration
Sadler teapot collectors will LOVE this delightful vintage porcelain teapot. The cream colored ground is gilded with stripes and flourishes and the floral decoration is that of a beautiful pink rose with a purple and blue petal flower and a small yellow petal flower. Multiple sprigs of blue and yellow flowers and green leaves make this a quite design.
This dear teapot measures about 6” high (to the top of the finial of the lid) and about 9 ¼” wide from the tip of the spout to the outer edge of the handle.
Mark: Sadler England. The number 2097 BF is handwritten in gold on the bottom.
Condition: Excellent, near mint.
I have examined this teapot thoroughly because I can’t believe the condition. There simply is no wear. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. There are no stains. The floral decoration is fully intact. I can see absolutely no flaws – it does not look as if it were ever used. There are some extremely tiny manufacturing flaws such as a tiny gold “line” where it looks like the decorator using the gold had a hair of the brush go slightly off and some underglaze things. (The photo showing the interior of the teapot shows both these.)
